EXPECTATIONS: how to be a PRO
Here are 3 simple rules thatwill help you succeed this year.
We will need some time to knoweach other a little better. Be patient!
If you don't understand something,ask questions!
I will be available in 6th,9th periods and after class.
Meetings on appointment only.
I really want to help thosewho want to be helped. Talk to me to get help.
GRADES
Your grades will be based ontests, homework, participation and attitude towards the class.
Homework and class participationwill include individual and group projects.
Group projects are designedto make students work together.
Every member in the group willreceive the same "team grade".
Students that do not participatein the group activities may be graded individually.
Semester Grades
Semester grades are computedfrom the quarter grades and the final exam grade.
First (or third) quarter grade 40 %
Second (or fourth) quarter grade 40 %
Final Exam grade 20 %
Learning Goals
In addition to learning to speakand write in French , you will develop an understanding and knowledge ofcultures different from your own. Studying French will also help you inthe usage, appreciation and development of your native language.
Other
Excessive visits to the washroomwill not be tolerated unless a doctors note is provided.
Gum chewing, eating or drinkingwill not be tolarated in the classroom.
Hats, earphones and coats stayin your locker, where they belong.
Dress accordingly to the roomtemperature and the weather.
This class will be fun as longas you dont leave your positive attitude in your locker.
Try to remain open-minded.
Helping others will greatlyenhance your understanding of the material studied.
